3 years agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Chris Paddack will take the mound on Friday for the team's first game out of the All-Star break. Paddack started off the year doing well over his first nine starts, posting a 3.61 ERA and 20.6 percent strikeout rate over 42 1/3 innings of work. However over his last 10 appearances now, he's gone 2-3 with a 7.53 ERA and 1.615 WHIP over 34 2/3 innings of work. Until he shows a bounce back on the mound, managers should avoid starting Paddack unless he gets a favorable matchup — and the Nationals do not appear to be a good matchup for him on Friday.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
