Joshua Kelley Will Compete For Backup Job
3 years agoLos Angeles Chargers second year running back, Joshua Kelley will compete with veteran Justin Jackson and rookie Larry Rountree III for playing time behind starting running back Austin Ekeler. Kelley was a hot name after training camp in his rookie campaign, but he failed to produce on the big stage and didn't make much of the opportunity given to him when Ekeler missed six games with a quad injury in 2020. Kelley played in 14 games and rushed 111 times for 354 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught all 23 of his targets for 148 yards. Kelley, Jackson and Rountree will all be in the running for the backup spot and Ekeler managers will want to stay in touch with the situation to find out who the best insurance policy will be.
