3 years agoChicago White Sox starting pitcher Lance Lynn signed a two-year, $38 million extension on Saturday, according to Vinnie Duber of NBC Sports Chicago. This deal will also include a team-option for 2024. This deal helps solidify the Chicago rotation for the next few years as they are in the midst of their playoff window, as Lynn has been one of the highlights of their rotation this season by going 9-3 with a 1.99 ERA, 1.037 WHIP and 28.5 percent strikeout rate over 90 2/3 innings of work. This locks in Lynn through his age 36 season, with the team option covering his age 37 season. It's likely that by the end of the deal he will have lost the effectiveness he's currently showing, but for now this helps stabilize his fantasy value going into next year, and barring a second-half meltdown he should be an early round pick in next year's drafts.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
