3 years agoSan Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey (thumb) could be activated and start in Monday night's season opener with the Dodgers, according to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle. Manager Gabe Kapler said that it's not set in stone that Posey will return Monday, and that it will depend on how he's feeling. Kapler added that Posey has made significant progress in coming back from the left thumb bruise that landed him on the injured list shortly before the All-Star break. Posey has been having one of his best seasons in a while this year, slashing .328/.421/.547 with 12 homers, 28 RBI and 35 runs scored over 58 games.
