Carlos Carrasco Could Make Season Debut Next Week
3 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco (hamstring) could make his Mets debut next week, according to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com. Carrasco has missed the entire season so far due to a torn right hamstring, but has made progress on the mound recently. He made a rehab start with High-A Brooklyn last week, and DiComo reports that he will make his next rehab start on Tuesday at Triple-A Syracuse. DiComo adds that it's possible Carrasco could make his Mets debut five days after that outing. This is good news for fantasy managers who have been awaiting Carrasco's return. Coming off a good 2020 campaign where he went 3-4 with a 2.91 ERA, 1.206 WHIP and 29.3 percent strikeout rate over 68 innings of work, Carrasco could make an impact in any format in the second half of the season. He's currently rostered in 63 percent of leagues, so if he's still available, you should be sure to grab him and stash him now.
