3 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Alek Manoah (back) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Monday with a right back contusion, according to Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic. It had been reported earlier on Monday that Manoah would be unlikely to make his next start on Tuesday after he slipped on some steps and hit his back, but it appears the team wants to make sure he's healed up before his next start while also opening up a spot on the roster in his absence. In a corresponding move, the Blue Jays recalled pitcher Thomas Hatch from Triple-A Buffalo.
