Tony Gonsolin Struggles In Loss
3 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tony Gonsolin struggled in Monday's start versus the San Francisco Giants. Gonsolin only lasted 3 1/3 innings and allowed five hits, three runs, four walks and struck out three on the evening. It was his worst start of the season and also his first loss. Gonsolin has only gone over four innings in one of his eight starts this season, but has been efficient with the exception of Monday. The Dodgers need Gonsolin more than ever with Clayton Kershaw (forearm) and Trevor Bauer (administrative leave) both sidelined. Gonsolin can be a valuable asset if he is able to last longer into games, but he is no longer a must have in all formats. He is now 1-1 with a 2.83 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 28 2/3 innings. Gonsolin is scheduled to face the Colorado Rockies in a favorable matchup on Sunday.
