Adbert Alzolay Earns Quality Start In Loss
3 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Adbert Alzolay recorded a quality start in Thursday's loss versus the St. Louis Cardinals. Alzolay went six innings and allowed four hits, three runs, three walks and struck out eight on the evening. Alzolay pitched well overall, but a solo shot by Dylan Carlson and a two-run home run by Nolan Arenado was enough to give him his 10th loss of the year. Alzolay has pitched well this year, but has been hurt by the home run ball. The young starter has now given up 16 home runs to left-handed hitters and that leads all of baseball. Alzolay is now 4-10 with a 4.58 ERA and he will look to get back into the win column on Tuesday versus the Cincinnati Reds.
