Magic Take Jalen Suggs At Pick 5
3 years agoWith the No. 5 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, the Orlando Magic have selected Gonzaga guard Jalen Suggs. A surprising pick because virtually everyone expected Suggs to be taken by the Raptors with the fourth pick, the Magic get a potentially elite guard who some analysts had ranked as high as second on their draft boards. Last season, Suggs averaged 14.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game. The 6-foot-4 guard is an explosive player who can be an NBA lead guard and will make smart decisions with the ball in his hands. He might have some turnover issues early on and he's a bit of a streaky shooter, but the upside is clearly here. This is the kind of move that a team like the Magic really needed to kick off their rebuild. This move will likely push Cole Anthony to the bench. Suggs should see ample playing time as a rookie and will be a solid fantasy contributor.
