Drew Smyly Has Short Outing On Wednesday
3 years agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Drew Smyly posted a no-decision during a lackluster outing against the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday. He went four innings, six hits allowed, three earned runs, walked one batter, and struck out two. All the damage was done on a first inning home run by Nolan Arenado. Smyly only lasted 75 pitches in this one before being pulled for a pinch hitter in the fifth inning. He'll attempt to lower his 4.50 ERA and 1.41 WHIP during his next outing against the Cincinnati Reds. That won't be a favorable matchup for Smyly and one where he can be avoided.
