3 years agoChicago Cubs shortstop Andrew Romine went 2-for-5 with two runs and a game-tying three-run home run in Friday's loss versus the Chicago White Sox. Romine crushed his first big-league home run since 2017 off of relief pitcher Craig Kimbrel to tie the game 4-4 in the bottom of the eighth inning. Romine is one of many new faces on the Cubs roster and has been splitting playing time along with infielder Sergio Alcantara at shortstop with the dismissal of shortstop Javier Baez at the trade deadline. Romine is now hitting .438 with one home run and four RBI in 16 at-bats since his promotion on Saturday. Despite the hot start, he is a career .238 hitter that offers minimum power. Romine should remain on the waiver wire in all formats for now.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
