3 years agoChicago White Sox closer Liam Hendriks blew his sixth save of the season on Thursday versus the New York Yankees. Hendriks was called on for the save with a three-run lead in the top of the ninth inning, but failed to pick up the save. Hendriks completed the inning with three hits, four runs, one walk and three strikeouts. All four of his runs came off of two-run home runs off the bats of Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton. Despite the rough outing, Hendriks still earned a victory with shortstop Tim Anderson hitting a game winning two-run homer in the bottom of the frame. Hendriks has now blown two of his last three save opportunities, but still remains one of the top closers in the game. With relief pitcher Craig Kimbrel in the picture, there is a chance he could see some save opportunities, but Hendriks should remain the guy moving forward. Hendriks is now 7-2 with 26 saves and a 3.08 ERA.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
