Clyde Edwards-Helaire Gets Four Carries
3 years agoKansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire played two series in Saturday's preseason opener versus the San Francisco 49ers. CEH rushed four times for 16 yards and also caught his only target for five yards. Edwards-Helaire is expected to see the bulk of carries in the Chiefs backfield, but veteran running back Jerick McKinnon looked good on Saturday and could work his way into the rotation. Edwards-Helaire slowed down as his rookie season went on and also dealt with ankle and hip injuries towards the end of the regular season. In his rookie season, CEH rushed the ball 181 times for 803 yards and four touchdowns. He also contributed with 36 receptions for 297 yards and one touchdown through the passing game. Edwards-Helaire should improve in his sophomore campaign and is a fringe RB1/RB2 heading into the 2021 season.
