Tyler Mahle Takes Fourth Loss
3 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Tyler Mahle struggled in a 7-1 loss to the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday. Mahle allowed five runs over five innings while striking out five and walking one. The veteran hurler was stung by the long ball, allowing a solo shot in the first inning and a two-run homer as part of a four-run second. He then settled down to blank the Cubs over his final three innings of work but the damage had already been done. Mahle will take a 10-4 record, 3.78 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and 160 strikeouts into his next start, which is scheduled to come against the Milwaukee Brewers.
