Mike Zunino Launches 27th Home Run On Friday
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays catcher Mike Zunino went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run during Friday's 6-3 win over the Baltimore Orioles. He belted a three-run shot off Orioles pitcher Tan Scott in the seventh inning, extending the Rays lead 6-2. The towering blast measured 453 feet with an exit velocity of 112.4 MPH. Zunino has now homered seven times in August. Overall, the 30-year-old is slashing .211/.296/.563 with 27 home runs, 51 RBI, and 51 runs scored over 294 plate appearances in 2021. Zunino won't help fantasy managers in batting average but contributes enough in other categories to remain a solid option in most league formats.
