Luis Castillo Strikes Out Eight In Loss On Monday
3 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Luis Castillo allowed three runs over six innings in a 3-1 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday. Castillo struck out eight and walked two in the loss. The veteran right-hander got off to a rocky start, giving up a two-run homer to Paul Goldschmidt in the first inning, but he calmed down after that, allowing just one more run over his final five innings of work. Castillo now has a 7-14 record, 4.30 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, and 159 strikeouts over 157 innings of work this season. He will take on the Detroit Tigers next time out.
