T.J. Hockenson Faces A Tough Schedule This Season
3 years agoDetroit Lions tight end T.J. Hockenson is a popular pick by many to emerge as a breakout tight end in 2021. Detroit's offense is lacking pass catchers and new quarterback Jared Goff is expected to lean on Hockenson with safe throws in the middle of the field. That being said, Hockenson faces a difficult challenge ahead of him in 2021. According to PFF, Hockenson has the hardest strength of schedule for tight ends this season, which could put a damper on his expected breakout. The third-year tight end was mostly drafted in the fifth or sixth round of fantasy drafts this season but he may have trouble returning value on that price considering the quality of opponents he will face. Fantasy gamers may want to temper their expectations for Hockenson this season as he may wind up posting low-end TE1 numbers instead of finishing as a top-six option at the position.
