Baker Mayfield Throws For 321 Yards In Week 1 Loss To KC
3 years agoCleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield completed 21 of 28 passes for 321 yards and an interception in a 33-29 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1. Mayfield also added a seven-yard run in the contest. The Browns got off to a hot start in the game, with Mayfield connecting on several deep passes to Anthony Schwartz, Jarvis Landry, and David Njoku. Unfortunately for fantasy gamers who started Mayfield, all of the Cleveland touchdowns came on the ground, leading to the signal caller's slow fantasy outing. Mayfield's interception essentially ended the game as he misfired when targeting Harrison Bryant with 1:16 left in the contest, allowing the Chiefs to take possession and run out the clock. Sunday's game is a perfect snapshot of Mayfield's fantasy prospects as he played a good game in real life but took a backseat to the Cleveland running backs. He will be a QB2 despite Week 2's plus matchup against the Houston Texans.
