D.J. Chark Jr. Racks Up 86 Yards And A Touchdown In Opener
3 years agoJacksonville Jaguars wide receiver D.J. Chark Jr. caught three passes for 86 yards and a touchdown in the team's 37-21 Week 1 defeat against the Houston Texans. The bulk of Chark's production came on a beautiful 41-yard touchdown reception towards the end of the third quarter. Outside of that play, Chark only caught two other passes despite racking up a massive 12 targets on the day. The relative per target inefficiency is understandable when you consider that Chark and Trevor Lawrence had little practice time to build chemistry due to the wideout's preseason finger surgery. Chark's performance was very positive overall and he looks like a WR3 with plenty of big-play and volume-based upside going forward.
