James Robinson Disappoints In Week 1
3 years agoJacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson shockingly only managed 54 total yards on eight touches in Week 1 while playing behind fellow running back Carlos Hyde, who had 11 touches in the game. Head coach Urban Meyer's decision to feature Hyde ahead of Robinson makes little sense, but training camp reports indicated that Hyde would be very involved, and the backfield appears to be a legitimate committee. Three of Robinson's eight touches came on receptions, and with Duke Johnson potentially joining the team in the coming weeks, Robinson's passing-game role is fragile. This is a near worst-case scenario for Robinson, as it appears that the coaching staff is very reluctant to feature him. At this point in time, Robinson should be considered a low-upside committee back with low-end RB3 value in most fantasy formats.
