3 years agoCincinnati Reds left-hander Reiver Sanmartin turned in an excellent start in his team's final game of the 2021 season. Sanmartin tossed six innings of one-run ball while striking out six in a 6-3 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday. The 25-year-old wound up making two starts for the Reds in the final week of the season and showed well, posting a 2-0 record while allowing just two runs in 11 2/3 innings of work. Sanmartin certainly has made his case for a longer look at the big league level in 2022, but he will probably have to win a rotation spot in the spring. For now, Sanmartin is worth keeping an eye on in 2022 in case he does open the year in Cincinnati's starting rotation.--Matt T - RotoBaller
