Jaguars Change Offensive Play-Callers Ahead Of Week 16
3 years agoJacksonville Jaguars interim head coach Darrell Bevell has relinquished play-calling duties to quarterbacks coach Brian Schottenheimer ahead of the team's Week 16 matchup vs. the Jets. Bevell, who has been the team's offensive coordinator this season, has been unable to generate consistent production from a unit that ranks dead last in the league with 196 points this season. (Two teams -- Tampa Bay and Dallas -- have more than doubled their points total.) Bevell's first significant change at the helm last week saw running back James Robinson getting a much larger role, a trend that is likely to continue against a Jets defense that can be exploited in both DFS and season-long formats. Trevor Lawrence's outlook is a bit trickier -- and more volatile to trust. After seeing New York on Sunday, Jacksonville faces two stout tests to close the year in New England and Indianapolis, making any members of their offense risky plays beyond Week 16.
