Onyeka Okongwu Draws First Start Of Season Thursday
3 years agoAtlanta Hawks center Onyeka Okongwu has been elevated into the starting five for Thursday's game against Philadelphia, marking his first start of the year. Okongwu made his season debut last week and has since appeared in two games as a reserve, combining for 18 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks. His role with the starting unit comes as a means of combating the Sixers' Joel Embiid while Clint Capela (health and safety protocols) is sidelined. Okongwu played 19 minutes Wednesday, so while he will have some DFS intrigue due to his starting role, fantasy managers will have to keep workload expectations in check. He also holds short-term stream appeal in deeper season-long formats due to his shot blocking abilities.
