3 years agoMiami Heat center Dewayne Dedmon (knee) has been ruled out for the remainder of Thursday's contest against Detroit after sustaining a sprained left knee in the first quarter. Miami's roster has been crushed by injuries during the first half, with Dedmon filling in at the starting five for Bam Adebayo (thumb). Prior to his exit, Dedmon collected one point and one rebound across five minutes. The 32-year-old has enjoyed a solid run among the team's starting unit, entering the night having averaged 9.2 points and 8.8 boards since taking over for Adebayo. Dedmon's next opportunity to return to the floor comes Sunday vs. the Magic.--Jesse Borek
