Ravens Defense Gets Jimmy Smith, Pernell McPhee Back
3 years agoThe Baltimore Ravens defense is set to have two contributors back in the mix for Week 17 with cornerback Jimmy Smith and linebacker Pernell McPhee coming off the Reserve/COVID-19 list Monday. Traditionally the backbone of the organization, Baltimore's defensive unit was thoroughly dominated in Week 16 by Cincinnati's Joe Burrow, who threw for a whopping 525 yards in a resounding victory. Things won't get easier for the Ravens, who have to contend with the Rams' high-octane offense this Sunday. Neither Smith nor McPhee has been credited with a start this season, but their presence should provide the unit with ample depth after being significantly shorthanded the past two weeks. Conversely, safety Tony Jefferson II has been placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, complicating matters behind Chuck Clark.
