Malachi Flynn Draws First Start Of Year, Faces Minutes Cap
3 years agoToronto Raptors point guard Malachi Flynn has been elevated to the starting five for Tuesday's contest against the 76ers, but he will face a minutes restriction in his return to action. The Raptors' backcourt is dealing with widespread absences due to injury and the league's health and safety protocols, pushing Flynn up the depth chart. The second-year guard has scored in double figures just once across 21 games this season, making him a risky DFS selection, even as Gary Trent Jr., Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk, and Yuta Watanabe are the only other likely ballhandlers to see a relevant minutes total Tuesday. In 14 starts last season, Flynn saw his numbers rise significantly, averaging 14.9 points, 5.5 assists, and 4.3 rebounds.
