3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers rookie running back Elijah Mitchell (knee) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable to play on Sunday against the Houston Texans in Week 17. Mitchell is trending toward returning to action this weekend after missing the last three games. The 23-year-old was a high-end RB2 as the team's lead back when he was healthy, but he'll be more of a low-end RB2 this week if he returns, even in an excellent matchup against a Texans defense that is allowing the second-most rushing yards per game (141.3). Mitchell will be in danger of sharing more work with Jeff Wilson Jr. after the three-week layoff, and rookie quarterback Trey Lance, who is expected to start, carried the ball 16 times himself in his only other start this season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
