3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (thumb) is officially inactive in Week 17 against the Houston Texans. Garoppolo didn't practice all week and was doubtful coming into the game, so this shouldn't come as a surprise for fantasy managers. Rookie first-rounder Trey Lance will make his second career start, with Nate Sudfeld backing him up. In his lone start this year back in Week 5 against the Cardinals, Lance went 15-for-29 for 192 yards with no touchdowns and one interception, adding 16 carries for 89 yards. The Niners will likely lean on their ground game in this one against a terrible Texans rush defense, but because of his rushing ability alone, Lance has some appeal as a QB1 streamer in single-year formats and DFS.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
