Jared Goff Trends Toward Suiting Up For Week 18
3 years agoDetroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff (knee) has been given a verbal probable designation for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Packers, per head coach Dan Campbell. Earlier in the week, Goff was unsure about his status, having been sidelined the past two weeks due to COVID-19 and a knee issue, respectively. Goff's last outing was one of his best of 2021: 21-for-26, 216 yards and three passing touchdowns with no interceptions in a win over the Cardinals. A return from the Lions' starting signal caller would be a major boon for Amon-Ra St. Brown and Josh Reynolds, with Goff representing an upgrade from Tim Boyle, who has combined to throw four interceptions over his past two games. If Goff is ultimately cleared, he'll face a strong Packers pass defense that ranks in the Top 10 of passing yards allowed per game (213.7).
