Adam Thielen Recovering Well After Ankle Surgery
3 years agoMinnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen (ankle) is recovering well from ankle surgery and expects to be ready by Spring workouts. He missed the season's final two games and underwent ankle surgery in late December. The 31-year-old finished with 67 receptions for 726 yards and ten touchdowns over 13 games in 2021. "Feel great," Thielen said Monday. "Walking around again, which feels nice. My ankle wasn't stable, so I had to do the surgery, which was a bummer, obviously. I want to be out there competing with my teammates. It was a bummer not to be able to finish out the year, but it could have been a lot worse. It's a pretty easy surgery, and everything went pretty well." Thielen was closing in on his third 1,000-yard campaign but fell short after missing four of the last five games due to his ankle injury. The veteran is signed through 2024 and is expected to maintain his role as Vikings WR2 alongside star wideout Justin Jefferson. Thielen is considered a borderline WR2 in the early wide receiver rankings in 2022.
