3 years agoLA Clippers power forward Nicolas Batum was placed in the league's health and safety protocols, ruling him out indefinitely, beginning with Wednesday's game vs. Denver. Batum has been snakebitten by injuries this season, with his latest malady -- his second time entering the protocols -- popping up on the heels of a season-high 32-point performance. Justise Winslow and Serge Ibaka are the two leading candidates to take on a larger role in Batum's absence, while Marcus Morris Sr. and others stand to absorb Batum's shot attempts. Averaging just 9.1 points and 4.7 boards on the year, the veteran can likely hang out on the waiver wire in most season-long formats until he gets the green light to return to action.--Jesse Borek
