3 years agoCenter Montrezl Harrell has reportedly been dealt to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for center Vernon Carey Jr. and point guard Ish Smith. Harrell averaged 14.1 points and 6.7 rebounds across just 24.3 minutes in 46 games for the Wizards during his first season with the franchise. But with the return of Thomas Bryant, Washington's frontcourt had begun to get crowded, paving the way for Harrell to join a Hornets group that could use his activity among the second unit. It remains to be seen how Harrell's arrival impacts the season-long viability of Mason Plumlee and P.J. Washington, but with the team currently down Gordon Hayward (ankle) and Jalen McDaniels (ankle), there should be ample minutes to go around.--Jesse Borek
