3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (shoulder) is slated to have shoulder surgery in the near future. The signal caller sustained the injury during the 49ers' Wild Card Round win over the Cowboys, with multiple teams reportedly interested in acquiring his services ahead of 2022, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. Schefter goes on to note that San Francisco is expected to move Garoppolo in a trade sometime during March, paving the way for Trey Lance to take over as the team's starting quarterback next year. The surgery is not expected to cut into Garoppolo's '22 campaign, where his fantasy value will be intrinsically tied to his next organization. The 30-year-old is coming off a season where he completed 68.3% of his passes and amassed 3,810 passing yards to go along with 20 passing touchdowns.--Jesse Borek
