Dion Lewis and Melvin Gordon likely out, Landry Jones to start for the Steelers

According to Adam Schefter, Patriots running back Dion Lewis is not expected to play in the Patriots division matchup with the New York Jets due to an abdominal injury. With Lewis out, running back Legerette Blount will likely get the bulk of the Patriots carries against the Jets defense that has been stout against fantasy running backs, allowing the fifth fewest points through six weeks this season. The targets that have been going to Lewis will likely be divided among the Patriots weapons, and Rob Gronkowsi is primed for a big game against the Jets. James White will likely serve as the change of pace back for New England, but Brandon Bolden may also see some snaps.

According to Ian Rapoport, Chargers rookie running back Melvin Gordon is likely to be held out of the Chargers matchup against the Raiders to help get him back to 100% from his ankle injury. With Gordon out of the lineup, both Branden Oliver and Danny Woodhead will see an uptick in touches. Danny Woodhead should definitely be in your fantasy lineup and Branden Oliver makes for a nice flex play in deeper leagues for people with bye week/injury issues.

Also according to Ian Rapoport, Antonio Gates will be a game time decision for the Chargers. If Gates is in, he should be in your fantasy lineups. If Gates is out, Ladarius Green becomes a must play and is one of the better values in daily fantasy this week. With key players hobbled, I expect to see a lot of Keenan Allen like we did last week when he caught 14 passes for 157 receiving yards.

According to Ed Werder, Landry Jones will start for the Steelers today in their matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Jones came in relief for an injured Michael Vick in last weeks 25-13 win against the Arizona Cardinals. The Steelers say that whether or not Ben Roethlisberger serves as Landry's backup will be a game time decision. If Roethlisberger can't dress, Tyler Flowers will serve as the backup. With Landry Jones in the lineup, you are probably still playing Antonio Brown and Martavis Bryant, but expectations should be tempered. With the Steelers weapons and the Chiefs poor pass defense, Landry Jones makes for an intriguing cheap quarterback option in daily fantasy. Le'Veon Bell will get his fantasy points either way, and having Landry in the lineup isn't much of a worry.
