It’s the final two days of the regular season and that’s going to lead to catastrophe for DFS purposes. It’s impossible to predict what these managers are going to do and it’s going to make things truly bizarre. We just have to hope that these players find their way into the lineup and for a full nine innings.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers
Hyun-Jin Ryu , LAD at SF ($9,900)
It’s unclear how long Ryu will last in this game but we have to trust him in such a good situation. Let’s begin with that matchup, squaring off with a Giants club who ranks 27th in runs scored, 28th in OBP, 27th in OPS and 28th in wOBA. That’s truly scary in a place like Oracle Park, which ranks as one of the most pitcher-friendly parks in baseball. That’s a great recipe for Ryu, with the left-hander pitching to a 2.41 ERA and 1.02 WHIP this season. That’s why he and the Dodgers enter this matchup as a projected –250 favorite.
Matt Boyd, DET at CWS ($9,200)
Boyd is in the midst of a breakout season and it’s amazing the sort of strikeout stuff this dude possesses. His 31 percent K rate is simply one of the best marks in baseball and it’s led to a 2.59 SIERA and 3.85 xFIP. Those are some brilliant numbers from the southpaw and he should have no problem getting a ton of Ks against this lineup. Not only does Chicago rank 26th in K rate, they also sit 25th in OPS, 25th in runs scored and 23rd in xwOBA. In his three starts against the White Sox this season, Boyd has 28 strikeouts in 16.1 innings of action.
FanDuel DFS Infielders
Ji-Man Choi – 1B, TB at TOR ($3,100)
Choi just continues to be undervalued on FanDuel and it makes no sense why. He’s actually found himself as the cleanup hitter for the Rays and it’s no surprise when you see his .373 OBP and .879 OPS against right-handers since 2017. He gets to face a weak righty here too, with Trent Thornton posting a 5.00 ERA and 1.42 WHIP. That’s really bad news against a hitter with a 1.123 OPS over his last 12 games played.
Luis Arraez – 2B, MIN at KC ($2,900)
How often do you see a hitter batting .339 priced this cheaply? It’s not like it’s a fluky batting average either, as it comes in a 91-game sample size. He’s been even better against righties, accruing an .898 OPS against them this season. That’s all you can ask for from a player in this price range, particularly against Glenn Sparkman and his 6.11 ERA and 1.52 WHIP.
Josh Donaldson – 3B, ATL at NYM ($3,400)
Donaldson has made minced meat against lefties throughout his career and we have to love him against Steven Matz. Let’s begin with the lefty, as he’s actually allowed 13 combined runs over his last two starts. That’s disastrous against a guy like Donaldson, with the third baseman generating a .385 OBP, .567 SLG and .952 OPS against them for his career. That doesn’t even take into consideration that he has an OBP north of .400 and an OPS above 1.000 since the beginning of June.
Jonathan Villar – SS, BAL at BOS ($3,300)
Villar has been one of the best players in baseball this season and it’s getting no publicity because he plays for a bad Baltimore team. He’s still a DFS gem though and currently ranks Top-10 in season-long formats. It’s his recent form that’s gotten him to this point, with Villar posting a .383 OBP, .550 and .932 OPS over his last 58 games played. Those are absurd numbers from a leadoff hitter and it’s scary that he also has 39 steals to match those ridiculous averages.
FanDuel DFS Outfielders
J.D. Martinez, BOS vs. BAL ($4,400)
Anytime Martinez faces a lefty, we have to consider him. The reason for that is because J.D. has a .406 AVG, .497 OBP, .877 SLG, and 1.374 OPS against southpaws this season. That makes Barry Bonds’ career averages look like a Triple-A player and it’s got to make John Means shake in his boots. The Baltimore lefty has been extremely lucky this season, as his 3.54 ERA is way off of his 5.50 xFIP.
Joc Pederson, LAD at SF ($3,700)
Don’t look now but Pederson is starting to get hot again. Over his last 27 games played, Joc has collected six doubles and 10 homers en route to a .424 OBP and 1.259 OPS. That’s amazing from the leadoff hitter for one of the best lineups in baseball and it’s truly special how good this kid is against right-handers. In fact, Pederson has all 35 of his homers against righties this season while totaling a .350 OBP and .919 OPS. That’s no good for Logan Webb and his 5.61 ERA and 1.51 WHIP.
Kyle Schwarber , CHC at STL ($3,200)
Schwarber has quietly been one of the best hitters in the NL since the break and he’s not being priced like it. Over his last 47 games played, Schwarber has a .304 AVG, .380 OBP, .652 SLG and 1.032 OPS. What really makes him enticing today is the fact that he faces Adam Wainwright. Not only is Schwarber significantly better against righties, but Wainwright is also actually allowing left-handed hitters to post a .372 OBP and .349 wOBA against him this season.
