6 years agoHouston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman went 2-for-5 on Wednesday, including his 50th double of the season and three runs batted in during the Astros 5-4 win over the Tigers. Bregman became the first Astros player to drive in 100 runs in a season since Carlos Lee accomplished the feat in 2009 and his 50 doubles is the most for the franchise since Lance Berkman hit 55 in 2001. The 24-year-old superstar also is now only the second Houston player to post 50 doubles, 100 runs scored and 100 RBI during one season. Bregman has emerged as a top-5 candidate for the American League MVP and has been the hottest hitter in baseball for over a month now.--Joey C - RotoBaller
