5 years agoThe Los Angeles Angels called up third baseman Taylor Ward from Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday as insurance with Zack Cozart (forearm) sitting out after being hit by a pitch from Shelby Miller on Sunday. Relief pitcher Justin Anderson was optioned to Triple-A to make room for Ward. X-rays came back negative on Cozart and he said he felt much better on Monday. Ward was hitting .375 (6-for-16) with four walks and five RBI in four games with Salt Lake, but he's likely to be a short-term infield depth piece for the Halos. He hit .178/.245/.333 with six homers and 15 RBI in 40 games in 2018.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
