A's Non-Tender Mike Fiers, Kendall Graveman

5 years agoThe Oakland Athletics non-tendered starting pitchers Mike Fiers and Kendall Graveman on Friday, making them both free agents. Reliever Cory Gearrin was also non-tendered. Fiers came over from Detroit in the middle of the season and was a huge factor in the team's playoff push, going 5-2 with a 3.74 ERA in 10 games with Oakland. Fiers should be attractive to another team and should have a shot to battle for a rotation spot in spring training. Graveman started on Opening Day but made just seven starts in 2018 before undergoing Tommy John surgery on July 30. He will likely miss all of the 2019 season, although Oakland is interested in re-signing him.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
