Brian Hoyer Expected To Start Against Chiefs

4 years agoThe New England Patriots are expected to start veteran quarterback Brian Hoyer whenever they play the Chiefs, according to sources. Cam Newton tested positive for COVID-19 and has been ruled out against Kansas City. The NFL is currently planning to move the Week 4 game from Sunday to either Monday or Tuesday, but that's not exactly set in stone just yet. With Newton potentially out for more than just one game, Hoyer could be tasked with making multiple starts for the Patriots with Newton in quarantine. The 34-year-old veteran has plenty of experience with the Patriots offense, but he'll be a step down from Newton all around. In a game in which the Pats will likely need to throw a lot against KC, Hoyer will be a low-end QB2 streamer in superflex leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
