4 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Cal Quantrill (flu) is expected to throw a bullpen session on Monday. The 25-year old ramped up his activity on Sunday throwing on flat ground for the first time since coming down with the flu. Quantrill is expected to be back in the rotation towards the end of the week as he continues to battle Joey Lucchesi for the fifth and final rotation spot. Even if he wins the spot, last season's ugly 5.15 ERA doesn't point to a solid fantasy option. It's likely Quantrill will begin the year as a long reliever out of the Padres bullpen.--Jonathan Chan - Rotoballer
