CC Sabathia Left Off ALDS Roster

5 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher CC Sabathia (shoulder) is being left off the roster for the American League Division Series against the Twins. Manager Aaron Boone said that Sabathia's shoulder didn't bounce back well after his last relief appearance. The left-hander had a cortisone injection and threw a simulated game on Tuesday. Sabathia could be needed in the rotation if the Yankees advance to the ALCS, but for now he'll just be a spectator. In the final season of his storied career, the 39-year-old went 5-8 with a 4.95 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 107 K's in 107 1/3 innings (22 starts, one relief outing).
