Chris Davis Will Need To Earn Playing Time In 2021
4 years agoBaltimore Orioles first baseman Chris Davis said Friday that he has spoken with manager Brandon Hyde, who indicated that he would need to prove that he deserves to play in 2021. Davis, who is entering the sixth year of a seven-year, $161 million contract, was once a major power threat at the plate. However, he has put up abysmal numbers over the past three seasons, failing to hit more than 16 home runs or hit above .200. The 34-year-old did say that he has made some adjustments to his swing this offseason, but will need to show that they work during Spring Training. While it would be great to see Davis return to relevance again, fantasy or otherwise, it should take quite a bit to convince fantasy players.
