4 years agoBoston Red Sox catcher Christian Vazquez is getting the day off on Thursday against the Miami Marlins. Kevin Plawecki is getting the start at catcher and batting fifth in the game. Vazquez failed to hit a single home run in August and posted a disappointing slash line of .230/.272/.276 across the month. September has seen him come around a bit. He broke his home run drought this past Sunday and is slashing .293/.408/.366 through 11 games. Expect to see him back in the lineup on Friday as the team opens up a three-game series against the New York Yankees.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
