Dante Pettis May Not Have A Roster Spot

4 years agoThe San Francisco 49ers are looking at plenty of hard battles for roster spots once football really gets moving, and one of the toughest might involve wide receiver Dante Pettis. The third-year wideout was a second-round pick in 2018, but so far, he's failed to generate much noise on the SF squad. Pettis looked like he had a bright future ahead of him after a rookie season where he hauled in five touchdowns, but he distinctly regressed last year. After SF drafted Brandon Aiyuk and Juan Jennings in this year's draft, it's become apparent that Pettis isn't battling for playing time anymore as much as battling to stay on the roster.
