Dodgers Pick Up Jahmai Jones
2 years agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers signed former Los Angeles Angels and Baltimore Orioles second base prospect Jahmai Jones (elbow) to a minor league deal last month. The 25-year-old was designated for assignment by the Orioles in May after undergoing Tommy John surgery on his elbow. It remains to be seen if Jones will be ready for spring training next year, but the Dodgers are taking a flier on the second baseman/outfielder. He has played in 29 games with the Angels and Orioles in 2020 and 2021, hitting just .176/.228/.216 with no homers, four RBI, seven runs scored and a stolen base in 79 plate appearances. In 27 games at Triple-A Norfolk this year, he hit .212/.339/.343 with two homers, seven RBI, 15 runs scored and two steals.
