6 years agoNew Orleans Pelicans guard Elfrid Payton could not throw together one last hero line for his depleted club on Tuesday in the 112-103 loss to the Warriors. Payton scored just three points on 1-for-4 shooting but did add seven assists with a block in 25 minutes of action. Payton was coming off two games where he averaged 20.0 points and 13.0 assists and 5.5 rebounds, and it was not long ago that he was dropping triple-doubles like a mini-Russell Westbrook. Payton is a free agent this season and it will be interesting to see the direction the Pelicans go with the 25-year-old guard.--Gianni Costantiello
