7 years agoSan Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy said closer Hunter Strickland (hand) could be back around the second week of August. The reliever has been out since June 18 after breaking his hand while punching a door in frustration. It's unclear if Strickland will immediately recapture the closer's role upon his return, but he was pitching well with a 2.84 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, 13 saves and 29 K's in 31 2/3 innings. Will Smith has picked up the last three saves for the Giants and looks to be the guy in the ninth inning for Bochy at the moment.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
