3 years agoTampa Bay Rays third baseman Joey Wendle went 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBI in a 9-7 loss to the Nationals on Wednesday. Entering the game as a pinch-hitter in the eighth inning, Wendle launched his seventh homer of the season to tie the game up at 5-5, and he would tie the game again in the bottom of the 10th inning with an RBI single. It was good to see this performance out of Wendle, who has struggled over his last seven games with a .182/.280/.318 triple-slash line with one home run, one steal, three RBI and two runs scored. Hopefully this is the start of a turnaround for Wendle, who has been a solid player this season as he's slashing .288/.350/.500 with seven home runs, four steals, 29 RBI and 36 runs scored over 57 games.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
