5 years agoBaltimore Orioles second baseman/shortstop Jonathan Villar came off the bench with two outs in the ninth inning of Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Rangers as a pinch runner. Villar stole second base, his 12th of the season before Richie Martin struck out to end the game. Villar had injured his thumb on Wednesday trying to steal a base, so it was good to see him able to get into the game. Villar has been ok across the board this season and is now hitting .257 with seven home runs and 25 RBI in 265 plate appearances. Fantasy owners should monitor his health over the next several days to ensure he is starting before inserting him into their lineups.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
