4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Jordan Hicks (elbow) has progressed in his rehab from Tommy John surgery to the point where he has started throwing bullpen sessions. Cardinals president John Mozeliak says Hicks is throwing at "moderate intensity" and that everything has gone well. Hicks had surgery last June and was originally expected to be able to return sometime around the All-Star break, so with the delayed start to the season he could realistically be ready to contribute in the late innings (and likely eventually as the closer) for a majority of whatever type of season Major League Baseball is able to play in 2020. Owners that have not drafted yet will need to consider Hicks as a potential upper-tier closer as long as he has no setbacks from here on out.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
